"My husband, Graham Keith Pollock, was one of the 1200 who died from brain cancer in Australia in 2012. It was heartbreaking to watch a previously fit and healthy man physically and mentally deteriorate before succumbing to this terrible disease. The only way we will be able to beat brain cancer is through the funding of research. Please support brain cancer research and help us to find a cure to this illness."

"My husband Andrew, passed away from brain cancer in December 2008 after a 7 year battle. He was only 32, he was 25 when the 1st tumour was discovered, he had four removed in total & fought a very brave fight, always with a smile on his face. He left behind his 8yo & our 1yo sons. The boys & i now have a fundraiser on his b'day each year to raise money for brain cancer research so hopefully one day this may help save someone elses husband, father & loved one."

"My husband is 29 and was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme in Nov 2012. We are staying positive through treatment but have been shocked to discover how unknown and under-researched brain cancer is - we desperately need more awareness, more money and more trials to find a breakthrough."

"My reason for pledging is to keep up the progress we are making, the research is showing forward steps and we need to maintain the support"

"During my time researching brain cancer, I have been constantly frustrated by the lack of funding brain cancer research attracts. The 1200 Club gives us all an opportunity to change that shocking fact."

  • Benjamin Jonker, Neurosurgeon

"The 1200 club is something positive towards finding better treatments for one of the most lethal, yet sadly underfunded, cancers. As a neurosurgeon I recognise that although I have the privilege of providing care to patients during this often difficult journey, the most important future advances are likely to come from the lab and not the operating theatre. Let's be part of making this happen."

"As an adult and paediatric neurosurgeon I know that brain cancer affects all ages. To support research in this area is to offer hope to all those affected. Progress has been slow but new opportunities have opened in the fields of neuro-oncology with better understanding of tumour molecular biology and cancer genetics. We need to seize these opportunities that lay before us and 1200 Club program will give researchers that ability."

"This program will provide ongoing funding for vital research and support services. It has been set-up as brain cancer is still one of the most under-funded of all cancer - yet is the most lethal for young people under the age of 39 and children under the age of 10. We are here to change that."
